The police in Anambra on Sunday affirmed that a shooter killed eight admirers and harmed 18 others in an early morning assault on St. Philip Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area. The Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka that the remaining
parts of the dead had been kept at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi. 

Umar likewise said that the harmed were taken to the healing center. 

He said that preparatory examinations by the police uncovered that the assault was done by a local of the region.
