The Commissioner of Police in Anambra Garba Umar has said that a few suspects have been captured regarding Sunday's killings at St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu, in the state.
Umar told newsmen on Monday that the quantity of those captured would not be revealed so as not to endanger progressing examination concerning the slaughter of 11 people by obscure shooters.
The shooters assaulted the congregation while Mass was going on, and separated from the dead, no less than 18 others have been hospitalized for discharge wounds.
The magistrate had on Sunday said that the assault was a detached instance of a quarrel between two people from a similar group. He included that the police had reached a few people who might be helpful in the examination.
In the interim, Ikenna Ofodeme, Transition Committee Chairman of Ekwusigo Council, has said that his kin are still in stun after the weapon assault at the Ozubulu.
Ofodeme told newsmen on Monday in Awka that the injury among the inhabitant was on the grounds that the disaster was not anticipated. He included that such horrifying assault had never occurred in the South-East.
"It was a dark Sunday for us; we are still in stun on the grounds that it has never occurred in the South-East. We know about this kind of assault from different parts of the world yet it's pitiful that it occurred in my body electorate," he said.
He revealed that he had been a piece of the save operations and that 40 admirers were influenced, out of whom 12 people had kicked the bucket. The director said that the dead were nine ladies, an infant young lady and two men.
One of the survivors of the assault, Samuel Ndulue, who got gunfire wounds, was loaded with on account of God for saving his life.
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, where he is getting treatment, he said he was bit by bit dealing with what struck him and others.
