Lagos State Government has restricted the utilization of motorbikes famously known as "Okada" and 'Air Cool Vans' for transportation of meat and meat item in all abattoir and butcher sections over the state keeping in mind the end goal to guarantee a very much organized meat transporting framework which befits the status of a uber city.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Oluwatoyin Suarau said this at the partners meeting with delegates of the Sheep and Goat Butchers Association, Eko Refrigerated Meat Van Association, Lagos state Butchers Association and Apapa Park transporter.
He said that the legislature just approved 'Refrigerated Meat Vans' to the meat transportation business, including that some other gathering utilizing different means close to this would have their items seized.
"Any individual who transport meat item utilizing different means other than the approved refrigerated meat vans will have their meat seized. The 'air cool van' which was prior presented in 2008 has been confronted out and should not work inside the state once more", he said.
